Glove Guidance?

I think it is getting time to break down and buy gloves. I have been working out 24 years without them, and have been opposed, but it may be time to break down and get some. I guess if they are good enough for Ronnie Coleman, they are good enough for me!
Any guidance on a good brand? A pair that breathes and is machine washable would be preferable. But they gotta be sturdy too.
Anybody wear some they could recommend? Any time saved from experimenting is always appreciated.
