Gloat about your success! - Saturday, July 26, 2008 6:31 PM ( #1 )
I am interested in seeing what everyone has accomplished since they started lifting.
I have only been lifting seriously for the past 2 months and with my new healthy diet I have lost about 5 pounds of fat and replaced it with 5 pounds of muscle.

What have you all accomplished?  don't be afraid to brag you worked hard for it!

today just maxed and my bench ties the national record for my age/weight but atm i'm over the weight limit because of bulking but after a week of cutting going to the bathroom and losing water weight i'll be back under i think most any other day i could get 125 which would set a new record, i only got 120 today which tied it. I'm still happy my max was 100 less than 2 months ago.
Goals by end of 2009:
Bench 205
Squat 255 ATG
Squat Clean 185

not trying to rain on your parade but where did you find out what the record is?  i just think that it would be higher than that. when i played freshman football there were kids benching that number or more.  anyways that is still good work, if i remember correctly i was benching somewhere around 100lbs when i was your age.

i cant really think of anything specific for my success. i have just gotten bigger and stronger over the years of lifting

Yeah when I started lifting last year (my senior year of highschool) I made friends with a sophomore.  He ended up maxing 250 before the year was over but he weighed around 220

Yes, In the late 1990's I was doing above 250. Muscle memory is kicking in. I still weight 25lbs over that

I had to switch from regular boxers to boxer briefs since my legs got so big, and the boxers would cut off the circulation to my legs.

I've increased my body weight by 11% in 3 months, from 132 to 147, of which I estimate greater than 85% is muscle.

Psychologically, I no longer feel "skinny," "bonelike," or "frail," instead feel healthily thin.

keep on keepin on on this.

Side note: Pearl you're a runner? I ran distance in high school, never quite got my mile below 5 tho, about 5:04. A friend of mine if running cross country in college tho, running about a  4:35.

And I like Frank's first post...I'm much more disciplined now, it's really just a complete lifestyle change.
