Monday, June 30, 2008 8:02 PM
LoL not what you think.... On DB shoulder press, i can do 60's, 65....but i just cant get them up there. 50 and 55 are easy getting them up there by just swinging my arms like DB bench. but for the 60's, i try to swing my arms like im on a DB bench, but that doesnt seem to work. Please help me, its hindering my HST.

Instead of swinging em up bring em up to your knees first. Then throw them up using your leg strength.

ORIGINAL: d4mahern Instead of swinging em up bring em up to your knees first. Then throw them up using your leg strength. Exactly. When I do 60-65 I can get them up. Once I go 70-80 I have to lean forward and use my legs to power back as i slid under them. once at the starting position I straighten my body out and begin. Kind of like a snatch movement. I workout alone at 0230. It looks funny getting to the starting point, but hey no ones there. WD

Kick them up. If still having trouble afterwards then a spotter can push it up for the first rep (which you don't count).

yep. tommy.. the trick is to put them on your knees like brihead mentioned. THEn, pretty much try to kick yourself in the face with your knee, and use the momentum to pull the weight up. do one weight at a time obviously. .... don't kick both feet at the same time ROFL... that would be a sight to see
