Getting off the ball faster? - Sunday, June 15, 2008 12:39 PM ( #1 )
Anyone know any exercises or anything of sort i can do to help get off the ball faster? Im talking about football of course. Im mostly talking about in an offensive stance 
5 RM
Bench Press: 240 lbs
Hang Clean: 225 lbs
16 yrs old
190 lb

Powercleans from the floor. Snatch from the floor. DB snatch from the floor. Do heavy weights for explosive power and a couple sets of light weights for ultimate speed.

Create explosive power from the ground. They closely simulate coming off the ball and hitting someone. The more you clean, the harder you hit.

P.S. If you do it properly you'll be able to power clean more than you hang clean. So I hope to be seeing some 235-255 numbers from you here soon. There's an 18 year old here on the boards about your size who just put up 295 in a competition - just for a little motivation.

thanks, my hangclean is heavier than my power clean but i just really started to actually power clean, but im gonna focus on it a lot more than i did before so thanks :]
