Cardio doesn't burn fat.  Cardio's pupose is written in it's name, just to exercise the heart for the purpose of the heart, lungs, and circulation.

WHAT!?! did u seriously just say that? how can u say cardio doesn't burn fat? do u think bodybuilders do tons of it while getting ready for a show just for fun?

Cardiovascular exercise only increases the heartrate to produce energy. If you put more energy into your body than you consume, cardio i.e. swimming, running, jogging, walking etc. isn't really going to make a big difference. Your body will begin to store the energy in the form of fat. It's the bodys reserved energy. What energy isn't used it stored inside the body. Cardio doesnt make you lose or burn fat. It's how much you make your body work to make further energy. The harder the heart beats the more energy you expend.
That's all I'm trying to say, I hope you get my point.

isnt the best way to reduce bodyfat without losing muscle mass, long low intensity (aka able to have a conversation during) cardio such as walking on a considerable incline?

I think the question is 'why would YOU need to reduced body fat................8 pack?????  And I bet you stay lean through soccer.............hmmm, cardio.

Let me stress my point.  That did come out wrong, cardio can burn fat.  But...

A calorie is defined a unit of heat and when burned (through cardio) the unit of heat is turned into energy.  So technically I was reffering to a calorie not not burning fat, but rather turning a calories / fat into energy.

Sounds a little better.
