Getting Jacked

Hey guys, I'm 14, 5 ft 11, 145 lbs. and I'm getting into a regular workout routine. I am naturally muscular and as an athlete I can't underestimate the importance of lifting/strength training. I have a pair of PowerBlock Pro freeweights and a maxfitness ball that I use in my workout. I typically do 5 sets (on each arm) of 15 reps of bicep curls using the ball to isolate the exercise, and then I do situps/crunches using the ball because I've heard that with the genius of the ball, basically 1 rep= 5 regular situps. I don't do much calisthenics, although I'm starting to believe I need to after reading various posts, what kind of routine would you recommend for me to get jacked for lack of a better phrase haha?

Also how often should I lift? I've been doing it every-other day.

You're not going to get anywhere with bicep curls and sit-ups, so to start with - stop that Look at a routine called 'starting strength' which has all the compound movments you need to get started and following that for a couple months should see you some nice gains. Don't underestimate the importance of food, it's more important than the weight you lift. Eat lots of healthy food, use the sticky in the diet section to work out how much you should be consuming.

deadlift, squat, hangclean. any variations of these are good too. These lifts will get you stronger and bigger. I neglected lifting when I was in high school and in retrospect it would have made me a much better athlete if I had. Stay in the gym! If you're starting out then google some stuff. there is a lot of good stuff on the internet. Theres also a lot of garbage but at your age it really wont hurt to experiment to see what you like and what gives you results.
Sometimes you just gotta go out there and get it done, You know.. Give Er
