Re: RE: GT's Road to the April SNBF Contest (14 Weeks out) - Friday, January 23, 2009 7:23 PM ( #331 )
First. I don't power lift anymore. I did in highschool, those videos are about a year old. I can probably still put up 385, but I am not going to take a squat day off during prep for my show in April just to max just to prove something to some random person on the internet trying to call me out when I already have one posted. I will post me doing 315x8 though if you don't think I can do that either.

Second, your form is not going to be perfect when you are maxing out. My job was to complete the lift, which I did. I personally think that a 290 lbs power clean at 17 years old and 177 lbs is pretty good regardless of whether my arms were bent a little on the pulls or not.

Third, you can make out the weight if you look close. There are 3 45's a 25 and a 10 on both sides. The 10 and the 25 are a different color than the 45's. Take a look at my butt in between my backspot and my sidespot closest to the camera. I went at least parallel on that squat.

Fourth, would you like me to take a picture of my High School state power lifting champions shirt? I have it upstairs, and I can post it along with a pic of me in my high school baseball jersey to prove I went to that high school.

Fifth, why else would there be a lot of racks with a ton of people and a judge watching me lift in a school gym? Look at the video again. Specifically the powerclean one. That one heavyset guy in the yellowish gold shirt sitting down. That is the judge.

Finally, what are your stats man. You seem to talk like you know a lot about power lifting but I haven't seen any stats, pics, or vids of you yet.

Next time you try to call someone out, why don't you do a little bit more digging. Go back and read my journal and see my progress. I have been keeping this thing for like 2 years now. All of my past workouts and progresion should coincide with the numbers I have said I have put up.

Nice numbers, however, power cleans arent done in a powerlifting meet. The video seemed more like a mass baseball workout or something. Also there is usually 3 judges in a competition, youve got spotters and some coach I assume.

This is not an attack, but great numbers and progress.

Machoman, I know man. You saying something is a little different than the other guys.

I know it is weird. I thought so too when I first started doing powerlifting for my highschool, but that is how they do it for the Georgia high school power lifting meets. That was an area competition with all high schools from that area represented. I am not sure why they do powercleans instead of deadlift, all I know is that they do. I am trying to find my shirt that has the organization name on it, I will let you know when I find it.

Here are some pics I still have from the meet though. In the one with me and my weight training coach, you can see the Area 2 weight lifting competition shirt underneath his arm. That is the shirt I am trying to find right now. The other is just a pic of me walking around in between attempts I guess. You can see a kid from another high school with his school's power lifting team shirt on.

MVP, last time I got it checked I was at 9%. That was like a month ago, but I am probably still pretty close to that.

Re: RE: GT's Road to the April SNBF Contest (14 Weeks out) - Thursday, January 29, 2009 8:09 PM ( #344 )
I had a meeting with my trainer back at home, he is a judge in the SNBF and ex-pro natural bodybuilder. He told me that at my current condition, he could have me ready in 4 weeks. He actually said that if there was a competition in 4 weeks I should enter it too.

I am probably going to start going to the tanning bed here pretty soon to try and get a little color on me before the fake tan gets put on.

I am not sure when I am going to start cutting since I am a bit ahead of where I need to be condition wise. I am going to try to put on a little weight over the next two weeks since I am still like 10 weeks out and see how it goes. I am just upping my calories by a couple of hundred a day, so I am not doing any hardcore bulking. I am just trying to add a little bit more mass before I have to cut down.

I am meeting again with him either next weekend or the weekend after.

Hopefully I will gain a bit so I can start cutting. I don't know why, but I am really looking forward to it.

As of right now, I am going to be in the teen and the novice. I really want to win the teen, and I think it would be really cool to win the novice my first time out. I plan on competing again in October, and if I do well in the novice this time I will compete in the open for the Oct. show.

Thanks Wetdawg. I appreciate it.

You know those cable machines up at Lifetime that are always booked for those Team Weight Loss classes. The row with the cable cross machine on the end closest to the treadmills by the open area for abs.

I use the Lat pull down machine to do them on. I put the seat all the way down to the last notch and slide my calves back until they feel secure between the seat and the leg pad thing.

I like using it because the leg pad thing is flat on the bottom so it doesn't roll.

I will try to find a pic and post it up
