GREAT STEAK RECIPE!!! - Wednesday, August 24, 2005 12:04 AM ( #1 )
Here's a great way to prepare a steak, I know I get tired of using the same old seasonings.

1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon coarsely ground cracked black pepper
1 lb. sirloin steak
1/3 cup chopped onions
1/4 cup cognac or brandy
1/4 cup beef broth (or 1/2 bullion cube dissolved in 1/2 cup water)
1/3 cup dijon mustard

1)sprinkle salt and pepper over steak
2)thoroughly coat a non stick skillet with cooking spray. Heat on medium-high heat
3)add steaks. cook 5 min on each side until desired degree of doneness
4)remove steaks from skillet, keep warm
5) add onions to skilletsaute for 1 min, add cognac; cook for 10 seconds
6)add broth and mustard. stir well, reduce heat; cook for 2 min stirring constantly
7)serve sauce over steak

I'd hate to use a nice expensive cognac, will a cheap one do?
