GNC employees, question here
-
Tuesday, June 03, 2008 2:33 PM
I was in GNC today because I forgot to order my protein early. Anyways I ended up getting the "pro performance" protein. I got 2x5lb for like 75$ which is ok but the guy tried to tell me that GNC protein comes from the ON factory but they put a different label on it. He said it was the same except for a little less protein per scoop and minus the digestive enzymes. I think he is full of it but I wanted to see if any of you heard that as well.

i wouldnt be surprised the vitamine shop brand protein has the exact amino acid profile as that of ON's whey.

Actually he was probably telling you the truth.... most companies buy their protein form a handful of manufacturers and simply have it labeled with their logo and a slight change in the blend to make it unique..

I can't stand GNC employees. 99% of them are weak, feeble little people with no training experience at all. Then they tell you that ON 100% Whey is on sale for 45 bucks for 5lbs and its usually $80 or something rediculous like that....little do they know that I've been buying ON for over a year now and that same sale sticker has been there since day 1. Bunch of misleading girly-men if you ask me. I did get 220 Mega Men Sport vitamins for $25 bucks yesterday though........

This is how the world works, but with internet access, which you all obviously have, why are you buying supplements at retail when the online stores are sooooo much cheaper?

b/c shipping is outrageous on some websites. i'm just glad i have the hookups at a supplement shop. they will order me WHATEVER I want, and will pricematch any price I find (even the online ones) which is freakin' sweet.
My name is FOX.... and I approve this message.

Like Fox said...alot of times with the shipping costs it comes out to almost the same. Maybe you will save 5 bucks or less? IMO I'd rather spend the extra 5 bucks and get it right away. Sometimes its even less than that.

Damn, what shop is this? Local? I know the vitamin shoppe around my house does that. And there's a way that I can get whey prices to 37.95, but the shipping is crazy expensive, so if there's a place around you that does that, I'd look into it. I'll just post the trick here. Supplementwarehouse.com has a guarantee pricematch thing and if you put a competitor name in, they'll lower prices 5% lower than competition. Shipping is expensive. Massnutrition.com has cheap whey, so use those 2 and you can get the whey down cheap, then bring it into the shop. But you're only gonna save a few dollars. Some other guy told me about it, and I didn't feel like using it. Fox, you might wanna look into it :D

To answer this question, yes, ON does manufacture GNC's protein.
