Fruits while cutting?
-

I was just wondering if I should be eating fruit while trying to cut? I'm thinking strawberries, bananas, watermelon, kiwi, cantelope, and apples... Are there any of those that I should avoid? Is it ok to eat some everyday?

Certain fruits can increase insulin, which increases appetite, so I wouldn't eat too much, but it should be fine to an extent, don't go overboard.

Depending on your overall diet plan. If you plan to do some kind of a keto diet, which tries to mostly avoid carbs, I'd say don't eat it. If you follow a conventional diet in cutting (low fat, moderate carbs, high protein), I think some fruits won't hurt you. The enzyme, vitamins in fruits are good for your body, and there are other types of food that you should be worry more.

Yes, it is completely fine to eat fruit, though I'm not sure why you're cutting at 230 pounds when you're so tall. Given that you are trying to lose fat, you might want to eat the fruit mainly at breakfast and post-workout, but beyond that, do not worry about it. Eat bananas, berries, melon, whatever. These are times of the day when carbs are going to do your body the most good and the least to impede fat loss. Even some bodybuilders dieting to crazy-low body fat still eat bananas with some of their meals. Don't make this stuff more complicated or difficult than it needs to be.

powerlifter89 I'm not sure why you're cutting at 230 pounds when you're so tall. It's impossible to determine bodyfat simply by looking at height and weight.

snatchula powerlifter89 I'm not sure why you're cutting at 230 pounds when you're so tall. It's impossible to determine bodyfat simply by looking at height and weight. I know, but with a frame that big, 230 pounds does not allow for a ton of muscle mass. It's less about having a specific body fat percentage than it is about not cutting when there is not enough muscle to do so. The ultimate goal is a lean and muscular physique, but most people will have to achieve muscular before they worry too much about lean.

powerlifter89 The ultimate goal is a lean and muscular physique... The "ultimate goal" is up to the individual. Some people consider BF% and cardiovascular health more important than lean muscle mass. I don't know what this guy's situation is, but hypothetically speaking, if I were 6'3 230lbs 25% BF, I'd certainly be looking to shed fat fast. Absolutely nothing wrong with it. Good luck with your cut, Reset.
