Forearm Pain From Weightlifting - Monday, November 10, 2008 9:37 AM ( #1 )
Hello Everyone,
 
I have been lifting weights consistently for about 3 months now and for the past couple of weeks I have been experiencing pain in my forearms.  I wouldn't be as worried about this if it just happened while I was lifting, but it affects me outside of the weightroom.  I feel a sharp pain when I'm trying to pull out a drawer to get clothes and even when I am turning the steering wheel while driving.  Any pulling motion I feel pain.  Do any of ya'll have any suggestions or anything that could help me?  I have considered laying off the upper body workouts for a week or so and see if the pain goes away but then some others say that maybe I have torn something that requires surgery.  Any suggestions or comments are greatly appreciated.

I had the same happen to me.It was inflammation in my tendons causing my pain.I simply stopped doing any arm isolation excercises and began a 3 day full body compound routine.Ibuprofen helped me alot also.

Thank you. What exactly do you mean by a 3 day full body compund routine? What exactly did you do?

I do a different combination of squats,front squats,stiff leg deadlifts,deadlifts,bench press,OH press,pull ups & bent over db rows on mon-wed-fri.Since i stopped doing skullcrushers and curls my elbows are almost back to 100%.I probably will not go back to arm isolations considering i'm gaining arm size without them.

I had the same thing....It was a pinched nerve in my back.
My doctor told me to take 2 Aleve whenever it flared up...eventually it went away. However if it doesn't you may want to consult a chiropractor.
Current Stack: HDROL,Celltech,Superpump 250, Glutamine,Beta alanine,Whey protein.

The forearm pain, is it near your elbow joint on the inside of the forearm? I have it there from time to time. I got some MSM lotion. After a week of that stuff the pain is way better. Add some fish oil and some joint support. You'll feel better in no time.

the pain is in the inside of my forearm and on my left arm it hurts the elbow as well. I have laid off of it since last thursday and it feels better already but im afraid if i start doing curls and exercises like that then the pain will come back. Im thinking about just starting with lower weight and letting it get back to the weight I was using slowly.  Also one more thing, a little off topic, but when i do work out biceps I notice that my biceps are getting bigger but the bottom part of my bicep is not growing as fast.  The bottom part by the forearm and elbow, are there any workouts for that part of my arms? Thanks alot guys for your input
