Okay my mom is currently taking 1000 calories a day and Im trying to tell her its not good. I don't know why but it can't be good. Can someone please tell me why its not good or am I wrong?

Read that. Have her read it, if she will- The body needs a certain amount of calories in order to perform it's basic functions properly, not just to properly burn fat or add muscle. Not feeding your body properly can cause some functions to get sluggish, make it easier for a person to get sick, cause the skin to look unhealthy, all sorts of bad stuff.

eating that low puts your body into a starvation state, meaning it trys to hold onto all the fat it can.  If she is dieting, its just going to make it ALOT harder to lose the weight, and weight she does lose will probably be muscle.
