cleans are very good for explosion, and overall speed work out your calves, do squats, do the thing where u act like you're sitting in an invisible chair with your back against the wall and your legs will burn

And everyone forgot...plyometrics!!!

A good bit of plyometrics will really increase your speed and explosiveness, as will doing power cleans...make sure however that your technique is spot on as you don't want an injury

Plyometrics: Running ten yards, fowards and backwards. Jumping with feet together ten yards. Big leaps. Try to get it where u can get in ten yards with in three jumps. High knees. criss cross with your feet one in front of the other facing sideways. Try those. Have you never played football before at school? I played 7th grade to my senior year and every year the coaches had us do plyos before and after. Even in condtioning class we had plyos. I have to go but I will give you some more condtioning that will help with getting off the line faster later. Try these though.

Ok. The best thing to remember that your legs are the most important when it comes to excelling at football. Legs are used for everything. When you lift weights your body gets trained in the motions and in a sense your muscles have a memory of that action. It is the same with running and everything else. So if you want to get faster of the line or better at tackling or blocking work on your technique. Get in your stance. Then explode of the line and run ten yards. If it helps count down or have a friend blow a whistle or say hike for you and then right when you hear it run ten yards. Do this down and up the field. You should train on the field so your body is getting use to what it will be doing in football. Do up downs as well. that will help. just do repeted reps of short distance sprints From your stance. remember to keep low when you tackle as well or even with blocking. You will win 9/ 10 if you are lower then the other guy when blocking or tackling. Even if he has weight on you.

I would say that if u took a rack and loaded it up for squat and did maybe 50% of ur max and went down really slowly and when u break parallel have someone say UP really loud as if it was the quarterback then u explode up it would help ur fast twitchy muslces. And so regualr speed squats with just up and down really fast. U could try that with all exercises.

Or powercleans r really explosive, they helped me.

I'd go with power cleans myself...when i was playing football, i always said the cadence in my head before pumping out my set quickly....

I found that helped....
