i am a middle linebacker for my highschool and i have decent strength that im not truly concerned about, however my speed and quickness of getting to the ball needs much improvement so i guess my goal would be to become much quicker off the football so i can make more tackles next year.

Hey Andy! I would like a workout routine based on strenght, speed and agility. I'm playing cornerback, and I'm 5 foot 10 and I weigh 147 pounds. I want to get to at least 160 pounds. I want to get quicker too. So, could you create a routine based on 3 to 4 times of strenght training a week.
Thx!

I could get u stronger...but u dont wanna gain the weight to do it....or if u lose weightu can get faster. I'd say that if u got down to 33o in the long run ud be stronger and faster. Just eat right and train ur long distance running a lot.....and lift HARD every rep and every set.

If I were u I would get some sorta nutrition plan going. If u ate 6 small meals a day with 3 servings each time you'd be in great shape. Im gonna guess that some of that is water weight. U do this meal plan and lift with high reps and do different excersises...ull get stronger and faster and be more confident. At first you'll be more weak but then after a couple weeks your strength will come back out.

here is a workout for you guys looking to improve your 40 times. you set up cones or markers @ 40, 30, 20, 10 yards and you start by sprinting to the first one @ 10 walk back to the start and imediatly sprint to 20, and go all the way up to 40. one you get to 40 work your way back down to ten and thats one set. recope let your heart rate go back down to like 100 beats and then run another set. do 3 sets. if your not in running track do it. if you fix your running form it helps a ton. and do squats your legs are what make you better.

Do not do the workout e just said.  it might be good for conditioning, but not speed.  Sprints when working for speed should be done with full rest.

mark out about 20-25 yards with cones or watever you use

*stretch first*

do ladder drills about 3 times per drill

starting on side bear crawl down to the other side
quikly stand up and sprint back
then bear crawl down and high knees back
bear crawl down and heals to butt back
bear crawl down and backwards back

then sprints
3-20 yard
5-40 yard
2-100 yard

another thing is get a belt and a old truck tire or 2 and strap it too you and run sprints with it that will make you faster and put mass on you
