Flip may not be weightlifting but they sure can screw your ankle - Sunday, July 29, 2007 4:04 AM
First off id like to say hello to everyone here at DB or atleast the ones who reply and secondly though this may not be a weightlifting spacific injury i hope u guys can still lend a hand

Recently iv been going to a gymnasium to work on some cardio and plyometrics and decided after a while it would be fun to try some flips. Needless to say i tryed a foolish thing that i simply call a sideflip and ended up pritty screwed

Im not stupid i had tryed it before and was pritty proficent at landing them but then i tryed it into a fome pit and missed the land getting my foot tangled at the bottom with all my body weight and forward momentum pulling and pushing my ankle under me and up into my groin, felt some good ripping poping sensations there.

that was almost 2 weeks ago. I did the basics: had it looked at by a doc, got it xrayed and did the rest and ice thing. btw doc never called but gave me this line about "no news is good news". now i can walk on it a little but i somtimes get wierd "shockes" of pain when my toes move and of course dont have full mobility of the ankle.

Im hopeing some one can supplement so good rehab tips and possible insight into the injury. i wouldnt mind being able to go back to gym some time soon... any gym.

p.s. i ment to make this much shorter... i also ment not to get hurt.

hard to say, i suggest going to a different doctor, this one doesn't seem that good.

also make sure you keep resting it till the new doc takes a look at it. keep icing it.....
