Which Fish Oil do you take/reccommend? I was about to buy this one which is really expensive, i wanted to be sure it is worth it at 0.77 per day.

they have some at wal-mart that is pretty cheap, i think its like 11 bucks for 250 capsules or something. You dont have to get the most expensive supps to get the most benefits.

I liked Member's Mark Fish Oil, I got it from Sam's Club. It was like 400 capsules for $15 or so. Right now I'm taking Garden of Life Cod Liver Oil. It's kind of expensive, but I've heard nothing but good things about it.

I buy most of my stuff at the Vitamin Shoppe. I got an Omega-3 fish oil which I take 2 x a day. They have a sale going now on their store brand items, buy one, get the 2nd 1/2 off. You can mix & match, get 1/2 off on the lesser priced item. LT

CJ#99 im a rookie at this stuff and was wanting to know why the DHA and EPA is important when buying fish oils. They are moth omega 3 fatty acids. EPA is a precurssor to DHA. Epa is a 20 carbon chain where dha is a 22 c chain. You can get more epa from flax seed and dha from fatty fish.

do you honestly think that a few capsules of fish oil is going to have any effect on your training? if you insist on it, buy the cheapest

Actually if you get a omega 3 supplement with lots of alpha linolenic acid your body can convert all that 18:3n3 and turn it into 20:5n3 (EPA) and 22:6n3 (DHA) readily as your body has all the necessary desaturases and elongases to do so. The reason I say this is because DHA and EPA specific supplements can be really expensive and ALA supplements from flax are usually cheaper.

EPA and DHA are precursors to eicosanoids and docosanoids. These are important hormones that lead to decreased inflammation and increased heart health. They are also important cell membrane consituents and also important for eye health. the list goes on really.
