Hello everyone.

To make it short, I need to do 20 reps of 50lbs reverse straight barbel curls in around 7 months and I can only do around 8-10 of em with PERFECT form. (against a wall with a piece of paper between my back and wall)

How can i raise it?

Also I will need to make it to 9 in a beep test, anyone know how to make sure i can do it easily? I wanted to go run around for like 5-10 minutes but i heard it wont do me any good since running and beep test isn't the same, since beep test you need to stop and start a mass going

Its just going to endurace work which you can work out in two different ways some like one more then the other. You either work with 50 pounds and keep going for the one more and one more. Or you can work with lets say 35 that you can get 20 with and go for 30 with it then go up 5 and continue to the point where u can do 50 for 20 reps.

Well sort of, its more like...

Theres gonna be a radio, the dude is gonna press start and theres gonna be a *beep* sound, you have a given time to reach the other side of the gym which is 20 meter, If i remember, one 'level' is one back and forth  but every beep the time you have to reach from an end to another is reducing

So basically you start, have a break then go back. you leave when the beep sounds and if you didn't reach the other side before the been goes you're out. so basically (if i'm right) i should be doing 18 back n forth with intensity increasing.

I really want to prepare for that one test especially because this one this is an sort of elimination.

-20 reps of 50 lbs reverse curls give me points
-15 chin ups give me points
-10x 150 lbs bench press give me points
Adding with my sort of I.Q test, evaluators will give me a quote and rank me with the 1800 other people. they only keep 144 out of all 1800.

These test I really need to worry about em cause its a super set of all the exercises in an order that will change from others, you might do bench chin curl while i do curl bench chin, we dont know.

The beep test is actually more 'dangerous' because if you fail it, you're sent home directly and have to wait 1 year to come back and try to get in.

P.S: last year in my gym class I ran for 10 minutes flat for 2,8km or 2,100 I dont quite remember. If that can let you make any kind of math to let me know how easy the beep test should be.

You can do 12 reps with 50 pounds reverse hand grip. How much can you bench for 10 reps as of now? how many chin ups can you do? how fast can you run 20 meters? how long till do you have till you have to do this test?

I bench 30lbs dumbells, its definately not my max, but i dont have neither a bench or a spotter so i stay safe.

My max chin ups is 16

I dont have any idea if i can curl 12 times reverse 50 lbs

No idea how long it takes to run a 20meter.

The test will be in July or August.

Ok I just wanted to make sure there was enough time to make these goals. You may want to start benching so your use to the movement. Doing 10-15 reps benching isnt very dangerous without a spotter in my mind. Just dont take big jumps in weights and start out light move up slowly. But I would never well I do but I would never say its not dangerous to max and or do heavy weight 1-5 reps without a spotter. You have the chin ups down already so thats good just make sure you continue to do them doesnt hurt to be able to do more then what the test requires. Im sure they would rather see you finish fast and strong then struggling on last couple reps. You should see how much you can do with the 50 pounds reverse curl. How long have you known about this test? surprised you havent started to train for it if you have known for awhile. You need to get a stop watch and time yourself on the 20meter spring for 9 times. Im pretty sure you have that as well seeing you are fit from your avatar pic. But what I would suggest is a routine like this....

Monday-Bench 10-15x3 with 30sec-1 min break between sets then superset with reverse curls doing 20-25x3
Tuesday-Sprints basicly you will want to do sucides do it 3 times the whole 9 back and forth take 2-3 min break between but keep moving and stay warmed up between the sucide sets
Wednesday-Chin ups 15-max 3times with 30sec to a min break superset with ab workouts
Thursday-Sprints same as tuesday
Friday-same as monday

Feel break to pick a day to add in some back exercises and shoulders if your into bodybuilding. But I just ment the routine more as to meeting your test goals

Alright ill start doing that, and for the curls I managed to do 11, but I wasn't against a wall and it was with a e-z bar so i dont know if i can take this into account.

I know about this since yesterday, it was open doors so I went and I asked questions about this and that so I can prepare better... I dont see myself doing anything else than firefighter so I dont wanna f'up.

You have plenty of time, and also that sounds kinda weird for a fire test. What city are you going for cause Philadelphia is deffinitely not like that.

I'm going for laval/montreal in canada. Sure it sounds kind of weird the way i explained it but my mother language isn't english so there might be some flaws, and I explained it sort of fast, it should be more developped than that.

How is it in philadelphia
