I’m a programmer and would like to contribute with some simple programs, such as calculators to determine the 1-Rep-Max, BMI, and anything that might be requested later. Unfortunately, those file extensions are not supported for upload. Is there anything you guys could do about that? I mean, I already have made a couple of programs for my own use and I can imagine that they could be useful to others as well.

Marc's PM box is always full. I'm going to post a link to this thread in the moderator's forum though, thanks for the offer to help out- I think it'd be great to have that stuff right here on the site. (We do have links to those sorts of things hanging around here, but it'd be nice to have it all in one place.)

Maybe a new webpage could be created listing off the tools?  And one of the buttons up top switched out to provide them?

Send them to me at marc [at] justaskmarc.com and I'll check them out.  Sounds pretty useful!

I have sent him a test program some time ago. Since I haven't heard anything up to now, I guess Marc is either busy or not interested. Anyway, I keep thinking about useful programs, and if you have any suggestions, please post them here.

Been too busy.. but I tested it out last night and it's cool!

Maybe a link to it stored on some server?  The page idea is cool (a page with tools) but in all honestly I am not going to get to that for some time.

But I'm all for a link to the tool in the Best of Training section?

Do you have a site CrashCoder (Myspace, blog, etc) where you can host these?  I'd be happy to give it a link like bodybuilding tools or something along those lines and then link to it within the Best of Training post.

It is a neat program.  It's right on too.  I input some of my values and it told me what my 1 rep max would be.

Knowing myself as well as I do, I can say that it was within +/- 2 lbs!

My opinion is that you should have a page for the tools here. The thinking behind this is that you can offer the tools as long as your site is up – hopefully for a very long time. What I can promise is to make a whole bunch of programs according to user suggestions and improve existing ones as well. Since that’s already a bit time consuming – programming isn’t exactly the simplest thing there is – I don’t think I want to add messing with web sites now.
