Favorite body part (not THAT one!)

When you look in the mirror, or look at other guys (Am I the only one who does that?) what do you focus in on, or what do you dream about improving? Of course there's the whole package, but for me my fetish I guess you could say is delts. Nothing is more attractive to me than big wide deltoids. It's a definite dream of mine to have bigger shoulders. What say you all?

if im looking at someone in an athletic point of view I normally look at their legs first. but i suppose over all, chest (because its my personal vain) and shoulders, if i was looking at someone aesthetically.

Yeah, I like legs too but I'm not too crazy about bodybuilder legs. A little too much for my taste. I've been watching the Tour de France sprinters lately. Those are some nice gams!

gmcdrum, Excellent! Seems like every guy in my gym is the opposite of you. They avoid the power rack like the plague. It's all presses and curls. Bowling balls on matchsticks, if you hear me knockin'! Do you find the upper bod takes care of itself as a result of the squats and deads?

I like shoulders, but it's 2nd to calves. Because calves, when you wear shorts, are seen. It's one body part that you can show off at any time and in ABSOLUTELY NO WAY will you ever look like a wanker of the remotest sense

Carlos, Agree completely. Calves and bottom part of the quads you can show off. Up top shoulders and chest help but you have to wear a shirt on the tight side to show off. Very delicate to not make that look cheesy. Tank tops on a 45 year old are only appropriate in a select number of occasions. I think a nice a$$ shows nicely through the right pants too.

I love having a thick back down into a squat butt. It offsets my not so developed chest.

Bowling balls on matchsticks, if you hear me knockin'! Do you find the upper bod takes care of itself as a result of the squats and deads? to a small extent i guess so. when my deadlift and squat go up and i put on weight, my upper body seems to put on a little too, though obviously a lot less than if i was working my upper body. I like the thrill of lifting heavy weights lol. not that im saying my lifts are massive, i just enjoy it more than curling small weights

I'd be dishonest if I said I didn't like lifting heavy weights. But some of my lifts are so lame. I think my PR bench is like 165. I can't even press my body weight! I think I can do like 5 bodyweight chinups. :( But bicep curl, shoulder raises, rows are respectable. But I'll chalk it up to "room for improvement"! ;)

From what I remember, you mentioned in one of your posts that you haven't been in the game for too long. Regardless, you seem like you have some pretty good genetics there.

My legs, they are my favorites because they need the most work my legs need more lactic acid capacity as well as strength. Now that I squat more properly, I don't think strength is a problem. Mind needs some work so I can stick out the burn on those sprints and get more acid. :D
Three week keto test run Started July 19 It will work, or I'm done dieting.

Jane yeah give it time. I started with a weight at 200ish...in high school and most of my 20's. I got rid of the weight like at the age of 26 or 27. I just started to powerlift April of year. Although I like the changes in my body now and the weight loss...I still have a lot more improvements to make. Time, consistency, and dedication to your program(s) will get you there (just like with anything else in life). Jane, Thanks! I don't mean to leave the impression it's a big deal or anything. I'll trade the heavy PRs for the way I look any day. The guys I see doing the big lifts look big, but they're not cut. I want definition. The guys I see either have the skin and bones swimmer look or the big hulking cop/fireman/football look. That's not my scene. I like the triathlete or natural BB look. But diff strokes... But it would be cool to at least press my weight.

Well the diet part is a given. Obviously to gain muscular weight you have to eat excess calories. Training-wise though, heavy weights is the way to go.
