FLEXED - Wednesday, July 29, 2009 6:13 AM ( #1 )
Hello.

I'm new to this website. I have been working out at my local gym for 2yrs now. I'm seeing good results, but I look puffed up. Like when not flexed I look big. When I flex I can see my muscles, and the details. I want that detail out all the time. Need some advice.

My diet is 5 meals per day. I have alot of eggs, protein shakes, fish, rice and beans.

I also take these supplements:

Whey protein shakes *( 2 per day )*
Creatine *( 5g per day )* 2months on and 1month off.

Word!  Sounds like somebody wants to cut

Based on that tiny bit of info, it sounds like you're bulking.  I'm in roughly the same pattern, and the food volume and creatine are definitely at the root of the distinction you draw between "puffiness" and definition.

What are your stats?

By stats you mean my sizes? Arms,legs,chest..etc...? I haven't measured myself.

I thinking about dropping the creatine and lower the food intake.

Anyone supplements to help me cut faster?

No.  Think more basic than that.  Age/height/weight/bodyfat % goals, etc.

I'd have to know more about ow close you are to the level of definition you seek before I'd make a recommendation about supps.

32
5'9"
190lbs
18% bf

I want my muscles to show like when I flex.

I'm starting my 7day Hydroxycut cleansing program to get all the bad toxins out of me. Like i'm quitting smoking, and drinking java. I believe this will help me alot. Your thoughts?

Abso-freakin'-lutely.  Just be careful you don't replace the nicotine with calories.  Nicotine is both an appetite suppressant and a metabolic stimulant, take it away from most sedentary people and their appetites go haywire and they bloat up on junk food.

In any case, once you get it out of your system, you'll be much better off.

You say you've been training for a couple years, and at 5'9" x 190, I'm guessing you're a beast.  There are plenty of guys on this board who are in exactly the same boat, working on shredding the last vestiges of bodyfat to bring out the difinition and vascularity.  To be completely honest, I'm not the best cat to give advice on cutting, cuz I've never done it, and I'm not even going to consider a full-blown cutting phase until I hit 190 myself.

[edit] I wouldn't exactly cut out the java entirely.  Unless you're drinking tons of Starbucks concoctions with loads of dairy and sugars -the fact is, caffeine in moderation can have a huge net benefit on your workouts.  Improved focus and intensity, among other things.

I would add that caffeine too is an appetite suppressant, at least for me.  Giving up nicotine and caffeine at the same time may be inviting the munchies, imo.  Caffeine in moderation, 2 cups a day, is okay from what I've heard/read.   Does the nervousness from the caffeine make you feel like lighting up?  In that case, I might curtail but not eliminate the caffeine.

I drink java with tons of cream and tons of sugar. So that's why it needs to go.

Will this clensing help me loose bodyfat too? Or just clean me out?

I see!  I take mine black unsweet.  All I know is I used to sip coffee all morning and not take in a calorie until midafternoon.  Then it seemed like I'd gorge myself until bedtime.  I've never put on or lost fat so can't really help you there.  Yes, it would probably be good if the cream and sugar were to be given the old heave ho.

There's a grandma in my neighborhood who quit smoking years ago.  She walks our whole neighborhood every day no matter the weather (probably 3 miles).  She carries an unlit cigarette in her hand, she told me as a reminder.   She is so amazing to me!  :)

Good workin' out!  :)

Ok great information.

This product tells me to eat, but my friend said he tried it with just a liquid diet for the 7days. Is this ok or stupid?

Anyone tips on using the 7day clensing program. Please post. I start tomorrow at noon time. I have one pack of butts left too. I'm not drinking coffee at all within the 7day. With this clensing program will I loose weight at all?

Do I just drink water and no food for the 7days? The product says no, but I think drinking tons of water with no food will fluss my system much better.

Never fast during a cleanse.  Anyone who tells you otherwise is a quack.  Sorry to be so blunt, but all these strict liquid diet cleanse fiascoes you hear about are new age fads and snake oil scams.

The point of a cleanse is to flush out toxins and impurities from your body; nothing will do that faster than eating clean to begin with and getting a lot of insoluble fiber.  Like the shredding bit, I'm also no expert on cleanses, but I've heard a lot of cautionary advice from some very smart people decrying the liquid fast approach.

Frankly, trying to subsist on liquid alone will screw up your hormone balance and throw your body into starvation mode.

I was under the impression you were infatuated with the twin Monicas: Bannuci and Brant.  ;)

Btw, what the hell are we both doing up so late?!  It's after 11:00:  Aren't our muscles supposed to be basting in their own juices right now?!  ;)

Re:FLEXED - Thursday, July 30, 2009 1:03 PM ( #15 )
I started the cleansing today. No more coffee or soda. With just cutting those two out. I won't be intaking all the sugars. I believe the sugar is making me fat. My belly is getting bigger, and it's funny how my sugar intake has been increasing.

I was taking in 400g of sugar per day. I had my doctor run labs, and he was shocked they came back fine.

Do you think I will see a fat lost in this first week? I think so, cause no sugar will be coming in.

I'm going to drink one gal of water each day.

Distilled water or spring water. Is my question.

Anyone have feedback. Please post it here. I'm going to continue my healthy diet. I didn't cut out the cigs yet, but I'm going to this week.

Well the clensing went good. I'm wondering if I should use creatine to make me look as big as possible or just cut? I want my muscles to show like when I flex them, but all the time. Whats your thoughts?

Speaking of cleansing, what's the word on colonics?
