i am around 175+ lbs.  5'9 or so and i would like to get into powerlifting for a while.

there are a few thing i do not understand.. one being that do you do all three lifts in a week.  And also how long do your guy's workouts last, most powerlifters i see here have a very long line or sets and reps in there journals or routines.

also i would like to know what split you guys use, and what works the best from your experiences.

well, in powerlifting, the best idea is to do less reps with more weight and longer rest in between each set. This allows u to lift more weight for each set which will get u stronger. A good rep scheme is something like ([]=warm-ups) [15-12-10-8-6]-4-3-2-1...something like that. That one rep doesnt need to be a max single it can be like 90 percent of ur max.

My split, that i have had for a long ass time is like this:
monday-squat/legs
tuesday-bench aux
wednesday-biceps/forearms
thursday-DL/back
friday-off
saturday-heavy bench
sunday-off

has worked for me very much. Enough rest time and everything..i really like it. U should give it a try.

My average workout lasts about 2-3 hours....the auxillerie workouts last about an hour. and when u do auxilleries, the rep scehemes r different as well, u do like 6-8 reps.

and also, 2-3 hours seems like a lot, would you say that is the major difference between bodybuilding?
