Exercise Groups/Sequence

So I ran into the website exrx.net, which has a ton of very useful information. I really want to try one of their workout routines, but I'm running into the same problem I usually do when I run across exercise routines. They usually just list a set of exercies or muscle groups, but I'm not sure how to group the exercies. Basically, lets say you had a list of 6-8 exercises to do. Is there a general consensus on how to do them, for instance 1) do 3 sets of one exerces before moving on to the next 2) do 1 set of some number fo exercises in a group before moving on to the next group and repeating 3) do 1 set of each exercise before repeating 4) some other sequence?

Doing 1 set of benches than doing 1 set of rows, afterwords going directly back to benches and repeat is called strip-sets. 3 sets of benches, 3 sets of pullups, 3 sets of rows, etc.. is how I go. Does that answer your question? I don't quite understand what you're asking.

That sort of answers it. For instance, one of the workout guides I found (exrx.net) just gives a list such as: Workout A: Back (Lats) Deltaoid (side) Back (General) Trapezius (Upper) Deltoid (Rear) * Biceps Brachialis * Brachioradialis * Wrist Flexors * Wrist Extensors * And then they give you a list of exercises you could do for each muscle group so you could create your own workout that fits the general outline. The *'s indicate optional muscle groups to exercise in this workout, which I was planning on doing. My question is basically, how would I do these exercises?... should I do 1 set of each of the first 2-3 exercises until I have done 3 sets and then move on to the next group of 2-3 exercises? Or should I do 3 sets of the first exercise before moving on to the next and so on?

I don't see how all of those exercises in one session would be anything less than counterproductive.
