Does working out have some kind of... beautifying effect? - Thursday, July 27, 2006 12:44 AM
I've noticed this recently, that when I workout I seem to be actually better looking, a girl in my calculus class noticed it too. I am completely dumbfounded by this.

Of course it does- Some changes are hard to put your finger on, but working out, and more importantly eating right, can definitely make you look better overall. Nicer skin, hair, eyes, etc- Not to mention the improved posture, lower bodyfat and more muscular physique.
And, don't forget the huge role confidence plays in how other people view you- And how you view yourself. Holding your head a little higher and feeling confident with yourself has immeasurable effects.

CPL nailed it.  Let's not forget, busting a good sweat frequently is good for your pores -it flushes the crap out of your skin and improves your complexion.
Yes, that's me in my avatar, and NO, I don't look like that today. That was taken back in Jan '07, and I lost most of that progress when I slacked off last year. I'm on my way back, tho, and I'm using that photo for inspiration.

No offense, but this is a kind of obvious question!

Why people work out?

Reason #1, because you/yourself want to look good!
Reason #2, you want to attract beautiful females!
Reason #3, you just want to stay fit and healthy!
Its not what you know, its what you can do that counts!

Subtle changes can make all the difference - e.g. wider neck, less fat around the jawline, muscle with a pump, walkign chest out and shoulders broad..... all this is reflected in your mannerisms and how you carry yourself.

While a fair about the attraction is physical... an even greater amount of it is mental/psychological. If you think you are more attractive, the chances are, the opposite sex tend to agree with you. (even if you become an arrogant, self-involved pig, physically you are more attractive )

I agree with Lynx. I have gotten a lot more confidence with my appearence since I started working out. And it shows in how I talk and carry myself. So that confirms his theory. I have become an arrogant, self-involved pig, and now I am a sexy beast!

Interesting, who are you planning on fighting? Are you a boxer, fighter, what exactly and why?

I have felt a little more confident and my posture has gotten a little better, but i figure when working out hard, you can bever be satisified, otherwise you will stop, you just gottta keep pushing yourself.
