I started using my fake Converse this weekend and it felt like I had so much more balance doing standing exercises, so I recommend the Chuck Taylors.

As of 5/2/08:

26, male, 5'9", 250# of chub & muscles. I workout alone in my garage.

Bench Press = 260x3
Deadlift = 315x5 (deweighted)
Hi Rep Squat = 185x20 >>>> I don't have a proper squat rack, so I do these instead.
BB Row = 225x4 (deweighted)
Front Squat/Push Press = 180x5
Pwr Cleans = 185x5 (deweighted)
Pullups = 7

Now I will finally begin cutting. More trying to run a 5K with my sister than getting lean.

I much prefer flat soles for wieght training, it gives me a more steady stance and feels more stable. Especially for squats and deadlifts

Obviously if its cardio training, you want a good pair of running shoes
