I'm new to body building. I recently work out for 3 weeks straight, no day off and about 1 hour 30mins per day (doing all kind of exericise I could find). After joining this forum I read some of threads and realize I might be doing things wrong. I thought continuous work out would help my muscles to grow faster but I might be wrong. And about the schedule for paticular work out area on the body like :

Monday: chest
Tuesday: arm

I didn't know that before I just work my butt off in all areas of my body in one work out and repeat the same thing the next day. I can feel my body is changing but am I doing it right? am I maximizing my chances of growing muscles? should I take a day off once a week or two?

Please feel free to advice me. I'm consuming about at least 200 whey protein per day (not including other food)

Say If I take a day off and continue to take whey protein. How does it work? will the whey protein helps building my mucles even on the day off?

Yeah, you need a day off, at least 1 day a week. Your muscles actually grow when they are resting, not when you're lifting. Also, dont do the same thing everyday, I wouldnt work the same muscles more than 2 times a week (I used to work my muscles twice a week because I thought it would help me get bigger faster, but a few months ago started working each muscle only once a week and have been getting better results as I can focus on each muscle a little more each day). My advice would be to check out some other peoples workouts on this site, learn all the different muscles you should be working (Chest, Shoulders, Back, Biceps, Triceps, Abs, and Legs) and learn about 3-4 exercises for each muscle, and focus on 1-2 muscle groups a day.

This is what my workout looks like

Monday: Chest
Tuesday: Back
Wednesday: Legs & Abs
Thursday: Shoulders
Friday: Biceps & Triceps
Saturday: Abs
Sunday: Off
