Do shoes really matter?

I have been woundering for a while. Does the type of shoe u wear while lfting effect your prefomace? If so Wats better My new balance cross trainers or my Chuck Talyors?

I started using my fake Converse this weekend and it felt like I had so much more balance doing standing exercises, so I recommend the Chuck Taylors.

I much prefer flat soles for wieght training, it gives me a more steady stance and feels more stable. Especially for squats and deadlifts Obviously if its cardio training, you want a good pair of running shoes

hum i will have to give my chucks a try on monday of course only ones i have are tan camo lol w/e its not fashion its lifting! lol
