All the time man. Sorry I've been out the last few days.

So what kind of camera you looking to buy? Point and shoot? DSLR? Favorite brand?

I've seen a LOT of camera deals...both types. Let me know.

This isn't an essential feature, since just about all digital cameras have a self-timer, but I've found that an infrared remote is a real boon. Especially if you can set a delay between the trigger and the shutter release.

Canon's PowerShot line of point & shoot cams have this, as does the Nikon D70 and up.

It's easier to compose the shot with the camera on a tripod or some other support, then take your time getting the pose right. When you're ready, you can trip the shutter with the remote, and either tuck it in your waistband or toss it out of frame before the shutter snaps. Also, this ensures that the camera has something to focus on -whereas you have to guesstimate the focus and trip the shutter before you're even in the frame with the self-timer option.

Last, one nice feature of the Canon PowerShot line is the ability to flip the LCD screen out and turn it around. That way, when you're doing a self portrait, you can actually see the composition from in front of the camera.

ur best bet is to go to websites like Asksimon.com, Buy.com, amazon.com, ya know. That way u type in model and brand and all that and it brings up all kinds of websites that sell the product and which ones sell it the cheapest. I saved 270 bucks on a subwoofer by using buy.com to find a website

Hey Veg,

Thatnks for the advice.  I bought a Canon Powershot S2IS off newegg and couldn't be happier.  I'll be taking snapshots of different sections of my anatomy and PMing them to you to show my gratitude.  Cheers, Buddy.

Anytime, Nav. THE PHOTOGRAPHY ADVICE, THAT IS! Not the sending me... pictures of... sections... THAT thing.

I'm horrified to think of all the new ways you will be documenting your dog food and paddle exploits. But look on the bright side, at least no more unsuspecting photo lab technicians will have to run to the confessional every time you bring in a new roll for developing Smile
