Different Exercise or 3 More Sets

I was just wondering if it would be better to take out a move and spread the sets into other moves. For example, if i take out 3 sets of barbell curls should i replace it with a totally different bicep exercise or should i take those three sets and add them to other exercises, so it would be like 4 sets of hammer curls, preacher curls, and alternating dumbbell curls instead of just three sets of those exercises

Yah i know that sounded a little confusing...sorry No what i mean was; I have 3 sets of barbell curls 3 sets of alter. dumbbell curls 3 sets of preacher curls 3 sets of hammer curls if I take out the 3 sets of barbell curls should I add a different exercise to replace barbell curls (like concentration curls) or should I take those 3 sets and add one more set to each of the other three exercises, so it would look like this; 4 sets of alter. dumbbell curls 4 sets of preacher curls 4 sets of hammer curls By the way, this post has nothing to do with my pull, push, leg routine. The routine im creating will be for my dad.

Boy, that is essentially RAPING your dad's bicep. Keep sets for biceps between 3-6, not 12. Save some exercises for another routine.

The bicep is a very small muscle and dosn't need anywhere near that much work. How about this BB curls 3X12 ORIGINAL: WheyFreak Yah i know that sounded a little confusing...sorry No what i mean was; I have 3 sets of barbell curls 3 sets of alter. dumbbell curls 3 sets of preacher curls 3 sets of hammer curls if I take out the 3 sets of barbell curls should I add a different exercise to replace barbell curls (like concentration curls) or should I take those 3 sets and add one more set to each of the other three exercises, so it would look like this; 4 sets of alter. dumbbell curls 4 sets of preacher curls 4 sets of hammer curls By the way, this post has nothing to do with my pull, push, leg routine. keep your bicep exercies limited to about 3. or about 9 sets total. ive gone up to 12 sets but not for very long and at the time i was years into working out. but yes i would usually replace that exercise with something else. why would you want to take out barbell curls?

Wow..thanks for the advice, the last thing i would want to do is overtrain my own dad. To answer Red PittBulls, question my dad been trying to lose weight for a very long time, but he has never been able to do it. Once he saw me lose 50 pounds (I use to be very overweight) becuase diet and weight training, he asked me to do some research and make him a routine. I don't know his weight but it is atleast 270 to 300 pounds and 5 feet 11 inches tall. I put him on a 12-week program called "Get Ripped by Jan. 1". I just made a couple of changes to the routines to make it better for him. He will be trying to lose weight by gaining muscle to help him burn fat. He will be eating 2700 cal. a day from all healthy foods. He will be lifting 5 days a week and will be doing cardio, 3-4 times a week.
