All the garbage floating around the FDA equals rape for Canadia too.

Raw milk is illegal here :(

See, what really gets me is this-

You want to buy raw milk for health...

Gov't says: "Ohhh Noooez, dat stuff will make you get teh sickz, plus we added all teh vitaminz back in teh milk!!"---
What they really mean: "No, the big dairy industries will lose money and the process of pasturization will be questioned, especially since there is no hard evidence that raw milk from reliable sources can make you sick at all and has been shown to be extremely healthy; oh, and you will all be healthier so you won't need to buy as many drugs from the pharmaceutical companies that we are in bed with;  plus, you will come to realize that humans drank raw milk for thousands of years, and not because it made them sick."

You want to buy cigarettes because you are addicted....

Gov't says: "Aww, it's ok for you guys to buy cigarettes even if they can kill you, I know how addicting they can be. But here! We will sell you this Nicotene gum/patch that will get you off these cigarettes in a short 15 months!  We really care about you!"---
What they really mean:  "Yeah, we will sell you cigarettes even though it is proven that they can kill you.  We will make a fortune off of tobacco sales in trade for your health.  And by the way, if you don't succumb to quitting and buying nicotene patches/gum, you will eventually have major complications when you are older and need to be hospitilized and will be paying us thousands of dollars in hospital bills.  So go ahead and buy your cigarettes, we dont give a sh** about your health."

Health freedom my ass.

Could not be put in better words! good stuf man!

Pure chemistry "partially hydrogenated" means it is an unsaturated fat, and most likely a poly unsaturated....

However it appears there are "common names" for these fats and i have no clue as to what they chemically represent as theyre not using the IUPAC system, when they clearly should be, bastards

I know what you mean twisted. The simple thing that links both of them(both trans fats) is the trans double bond, instead of a cis double bond which would result in a kinked chain and a liquid at room temp. (vegetable oil). The isomerization from cis to trans happens obviously during the hydrogenation process. You already said this but whatever, lol.

We just hydrogenated olive oil in my Ochem lab, it was pretty interesting.

The entire world uses IUPAC, or its meant to anyway...

I still dont get it, how does turning an oil into a trans fat make a partially hydrogenated fat?

If anything the making of a double bond to make a trans fat would suggest youre actually DE hydrogenating the damn thing.....Actually not suggest, you have...it is being DE hydrogenated, the taking of hydrogen makes double bonds...simple chem that is...the hell...

Im not arguing your point im just confused how they name these damn oils when it goes against IUPAC and general chem language and steps, its bugging me

The partial might refer to only hydrogenating a portion of the chain, and hydrogenated oil would be one that was completely stripped of EFA and then fully saturated with hydrogens. That is just a guess.

Here is a link for anyone wondering about the structure:

Anyone who downs the policies of the FDA is an enemy of the state.

If you don't like the FDA's policies, then break them or find loopholes, but whatever you do, NEVER speak ill about the USA or it's federal organizations' policies. I will report you in a heartbeat.

In God We Trust.

No one here in any means is "bashing" the usa. You should find something better do to with your time then "report" people to some federal email address. I'd suggest reading a book, it really makes time go by.

BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA.

I was joking and that e-mail / website is fake as all Hell, but thanks for the advice on how I should spend my time. This forum is 100X more interesting to read than some lame book.

Thats a pretty funny joke. You should quit the whole wresting thing and become a comedian. Seriously.
