I just recently found all the things I were doing wrong on my chest workouts and fixed them.  But what about dumbell bench press?  What does it do for you?  Also what does chest flys machine and chest fly dumbells do for you?  Im trying to build up my inner chest so it will be equal with my outter, any advice? Thanks.

builtdarntough150:

To add size in inner pecs you need to think of building your chest as whole by adding on mass. Dumbell bench press or barbell bench press are much much superior or in different league then flys. Flys come no were near.

Here's an example bud.Tell me if there is some one who increases there flys from 60lbs -120 lbs and some one who increases and/or adds on 100- 200 pounds to there bench press or someone who is benching double their body weight. Now tell me who's pecs will be bigger and will have those "inner pecs"

Sometimes inner pecs or shape of your chest is genetic.

hope this helps

Yeah, the genetic part I agree. But I still don't understand what chest flys or dumbell bench press does for you.

builtdarntough150:

Don't even think about flys when it comes to packing on size on your chest. Just worry about doing db bench or barbell bench and try to add weight whenever possible.

you mean chest flys doesnt do anything to your chest for size?  someone once told me that it causes the outter part of your chest beside your arm pitt to curv in?

builtdarntough150:

That's a myth! Who ever told you has awful advice. He probably is an advanced trainer or probably he gets knowledge from bb magazines which is one of things you should avoid during your bb career.

Fly's didn't get my chest were they are today. You shouldn't have to worry about flys until you have enough mass to work with. Do you want to add as much overall growth or mass on your chest? Then stick with dumbell or barbell bench or you can do dumbell flat and barbell incline
