I thought that I would start a training journal to keep me motivated.  In October 2005 I was 109 pounds overweight. I got on the Atkins diet and lost 61 pounds. During that time I started lifting weights again. My attitude towards weight loss changed from just wanting to lose weight to wanting to transform my body. I have been lifting weights and running for a couple of months now. I am going to switch over to the 40:40:20 diet. I want something that will help my body to put on muscle. Low carb is great for losing weight but not for putting on muscle. I have been lifting at home. I have a Bowflex and the Bowflex select tech dumbbells. I have been having good success so far but I want to change my body.

I have started taking Creatine, Muscle Milk, NO2 pills and CLA.

I will post my work outs and what I am eating. As I get more towards my goals I will post some progress pics.

Please stop in and say Hi! I could use the encouragement!!

Did some weightlifting last night. My lifting has been sporadic lately. I seem to be back on track and will stay with my training program. Last night my routine was:

Cardio warm up: 10 minutes on the treadmill

Dumbbell bench press: 3X10
Dumbbell incline bench press: 3X10
Machine chest flys: 3X10
Triceps pulldowns: 3X10

Crunches: 3X20

I am lifting 4 times a week. 2 days on and then a one day break.

I am following the BFFM diet and like the results so far. I will be lifting again tonight. I will post that work out tomorrow.

Lifted again last night. My exercise routine last night was:

Warm up: 10 minutes of cardio on the treadmill

Cable rows: 3X10
Lat pull downs: 3X10
T bar rows: 3X10
Dumbbell curls: 3X10

Leg lifts: 3X10

So far I am on track with my lifting. Today is my off day. I will do 20 minutes of interval training on the treadmill tonight. I like to do some cardio on my off days. My eating has been good so far. I am following BFFM on a 40:30:30 plan. I like it so far.

I just got back from 3 days on a business trip in Minneapolis Minnesota. It was nice to go from the 110 degree days in Arizona to it only being 70-80 degrees in MN. My eats were not good while I was out of town. I did not have time to the way I wanted to at all. But now I am back home and will be back on track. I was able to lift weights a couple of times while I was at the hotel they had a pretty nice fitness room at the hotel. So far today my eats are back on track and I will be lifting weights tonight.

My last workout was the following:

Warm up: 10 minutes cardio on treadmill

Bench press: 3X10
Incline bench press; 3X10
Machine flys: 3X10
Triceps pulldowns: 3X10
