Da bull is in da house - Tuesday, September 13, 2005 6:56 AM
My name is Frank. I'm male, 48 y/o.
My stats:
Height 5'5"
Weight ~225lbs and 22-26% bodyfat depending on whom you believe.
Neck 17+"
Chest 48"
Arms 17+" cold flexed
Waist 42" (goal is 36-38").
Thighs 27"
Calves 16.5"

Yes, I'm a short, stocky and husky bull. I am insulin resistant and have Metabolic Syndrome (yes, there really is such a thing). I'm a weightlifter, obviously, and have started to get back into cardio to get the fat off. Goal is about 14% and 200-205 lbs.

I hear that for people with insulin resistance, the best route to follow is extremely low carbs (no grains, taters, etc. just vegs) ala ckd. So I am doing ckd and hoping to lose the fat and get the Metabolic Syndrome and insulin resistance eliminated.

The two pics show the difference in 11 years of working out. In the first pic I was about 137 lbs.

This second pic was fairly recent, at about 228-230 lbs.  Since the second pic I've dropped a little body fat. I can see some definition in my shoulders and even the outline of my abs. But most of the fat is still visceral, an effect of insulin resistance.
