DHEA was one of the first pro-hormones sold as a supplement. Studies (yes, double-blind) by the CDC concluded that DHEA supplementation (as well as Andro supplementation) resulted in slightly elevated levels of a variety of hormones, including estrogen and progesterone as well as testosterone. The CDC's clinical opinion was there'd be no net improvement in muscle gain, and that the hormone changes caused by the supplments could be health risk. DHEA that's not wax coated is supposedly converted to mostly testosterone, while wax-coated DHEA enters your system as DHEA, because they are absorbed in different parts of your digestive tract. It's pretty much consdiered old news in the bodybuilding sphere, although the "fountain of youth" people still tout it sometimes because DHEA decline as you age. PS: Check the dates on the sourced for that report. They're mostly in the mid 90's.
