So for those of you guys doing DC, do you guys use a true 8-9 second negative? or just a rather controlled negative?
Current: 19, 5'11", 190@7% bench:305 squat:370(atg) deadlift:475 Goals: 4plate squat, 5plate dead "obsessed is a word the lazy use to describe the dedicated"

Chalky Palms no way, maybe for the last rep but otherwise just keep it slow and controlled. ya thats what i have been doing but a lot of people keep saying each rep should be done with a true 8-9 second negative, which does not make a whole lot of sense to me

That doesn't make sense at all. All 8-9 second negatives would do IMO is fatigue the muscle quicker and cause you to reduce the weight, which wouldn't make sense. Maybe on the last rep, as Chalky mentions, might be productive. How long are you resting between RP's?
