DC?

Who else has tried this? I'm considering it, just adjusting the principles slightly. Doing something like 8 reps or so, then a 1 minute RP, then a 30 second RP and try to hit 15-20 reps. I don't believe 10 seconds is cool. Something like: Workout 1: **Squat **BP **BB Row **Chins Workout 2: **Deadlift **OHP **Chins **BB Row Workout 3: **Squat **Incline BP **Parallel Dips **Skull Crushers What do you think about that? I've heard great things about DC but I'm debating whether 1 set with 10 seconds rest is enough volume.

Everyone else I know waits 30 seconds to a minute for the RP's, it allows them to use more intensity and volume. I've read about the program and guys on other boards tend to absolutely swear by it. I can definitely see why, but I was just wanting some feedback on people that have tried it and got success. I would never try it to the tee, because that would cause me to use a smith machine for bench presses. I only use free weights (with the minor exception of a pull-down). I understand the routine, I'm simply asking for how everyone else has responded to it.

Hm, after reading this guess I wasn't as educated on DC than I thought. I'm definitely trying it now! Thanks.

I kind of edited Dante's routine, because I don't believe training benches and presses on the same day is productive. Here is what I got out of it though. Workout A: **Flat Bench **Incline Bench **Dips **Chins **Rows Workout B: **BB Curls **OHP **Skull Crushers **Stiff-leg deadlifts **Squats Those exercises aren't in the order I'm going to do them in, but those are the exercises I've chosen. I doubt I'll change the exercises every week to be honest, that's a more advanced method. An intermediate method would involve focusing on increments of the same movements each week. 1 set per exercise, 10-15 deep breaths between RP's (which means more than 10 seconds, 15 deep breaths is about 45 seconds like I suggested). Hopefully this low volume won't serve as counterproductive but for anyone else considering this training style I'll update it in about 6 weeks. Dante disapproves of HIIT though with DC, he (like myself) believes lower intensity cardio is more productive for preserving muscle mass and doesn't believe you'll have the will to try to train hard with something like HIIT after a good session anyway. I'll start tomorrow.

trust me just follow it works haha dont change anything ive been getting the best gains ever and i havent plateaued in any of my exercises. and you dont have to use smith presses... i do flat bench, Incline bench, and hammer str flat bench. but im about to replace Flat bench with weighted pushups...Your chest muscles are best worked when your hands are in a fixed position. i was thinking of starting a journal on here so people can see how DC works perhaps i should do that. Oh and btw i dont really count reps i just add weight everyworkout...makes it full proof but obviously if you cant get 5 reps the first set then you need to change the exercise.

I would still be doing it as Dante recommends, he says take 10-15 second deep breaths between RP's and that takes about 30-45 seconds. You can't take 15 deep breaths in 15 seconds.
