Cutting bf for halloween?

So here's the "skinny" :)
 
I'm about 165lbs and trying to gain muscle/weight, trying to get up to around 170-175. However! Halloween is just around the corner and my Girlfriend and I want to go to a sexy halloween party. I'd like to tighten up the look of my abs before then. I was wondering if I could get some advice on nutrition and maybe excercise as well. Here's a little about what I've been doing/eating.
 
(I'm in the Army eating out of a chow hall so I eat the same thing pretty much everyday..lol)
(if I don't eat chicken I have fish, but if they're serving baked chicken thats what I have. It's usually a leg and part of the breast.)
 
0530 Muscle milk nutrition shake (230 cal.)
0630 3-6 eggs (depending on how many I can smuggle :) )
         1 piece of wheat bread
1130 chicken
         rice
         mixed veggies
         salad (olive oil/viniger)
1430 Muscle milk shake
1530 Weights or cardio
1700 Chicken
         potatoes or rice
         mixed veggies
         salad
2000 muscle milk shake
 
I also drink about 60+ oz of water a day.
 
Cardio is usually a 3 mile run. Although tonight I did weight training at 1430 and cardio (elipticle) at 2000 for 30 minutes. Avg heart rate 140bpm.
 
I should also note that I just did dead lifts for the first time ever today lol and I don't normally do squats but I'm going to start. (I've just always been afraid of hurting my back)

I would keep bulking dude. Halloween can wait a few years until you are 200 pounds and shredded to the bone instead of being 150 pounds this year and not as ripped as you are going to want to be.

Keep eating.

LOL. Thanks. I'm not talking an all out seriuos cutting cycle (unless thats the concensus)
but just a little tweak to the nutrition or rutine recommendations to tighten my abs up a bit, ya know.

My girlfriends really hot.. and I dont want to show up to this party looking like I do now.. I'd like to kick it up a notch as far as being cut goes.

Well, just go low carb all the way up until the morning of the party. Then eat high glycemic carbs and you will get a pump and be a bit leaner and look pretty good.

yeah I'm trying to cut my carbs, I'm just not sure how much I should cut.. The only nutritional fact of my diet I know is from the shakes. 25g protien/12g carbs.

about how many grams of carbs should I shoot for per day?

ya keto will be ure best bet'

and do 30 min of cardio in the morning and 30 minutes in the evening

eat lots of protein

do that for a month and youll be good to go

keto will draw water out of your body and lower glycogen levels visually tightening you up within a week, even without actual fat loss, though if you stay on it for a while, the fat will melt right off.

Really? wow. Thanks for the info. I know this question is like a broken record on this forum and I've read a lot of advice that was given to other people. Thank you for the responses.

I've been eating really clean. I've always been trying to bulk so I never really read about cutting. Any advice on ratios of carbs:protien? ect.?
 
I'm not really familiar with keto.. Have you ever done it? What was your diet like?

   I'm sorry if you've said this a billion times:  I'm thinking way ahead to my cut and contest prep.  When you're on the low carb days, what happens to your muscles?  Do they get smaller but harder?  And after carb up days, what happens to them?  Do they fill up with glycogen?  You don't puff up with bloat, do you?  The reduction in fat and water on keto are beautiful for contest prep.  But how do you fill the muscles with glycogen for Judgment Day?  Thx!

What "I" did rob was ate only protein + healthy fats(i would literally drink olive oil)

i would do mon-fri no carbs then start carbing up either friday at 6pm or sat at 6pm and i would carb up for 24-36 hours. Alot depends on your body..

this is just what i did RS is the most knowledgeable when it comes to keto but theres a ton of good resources as well just google it.

Carbs after no carbs for a really long time create a crazy ass pump because your body becomes super sensitive to insulin and your muscles are literally flooded with glycogen + aminos +  nutrients + a ****load of water is pulled in as well.

remember without insulin nutrients cant really get to ure muscle. Insulin more or less opens up a bunch of doors into your muscles for all the "people" aka nutrients to get  into ure muscle.

Its become a lifestyle for me lol Im mentally addicted to it.  To put it simply its 5-6 days of no carbs at all, high protein and high fat and then 1 or 2 days of carb loading with high carbs, moderate to low protein and low fat.  It manipulates hormones in your body so that you can actually burn fat and gain muscle at the same time if you do it right and eat really clean.  I got real into it this summer and took my body fat from around 7% to my all time lowest of around 5 1/2@ while gaining muscle at the same time and my body weight went up.

It also balances your energy and you feel more constant energy and better mood with no insulin crashes and serotonin release that leaves you feeling tired after meals.

If you do try it.  Look up more information as I havent really went into detail. 

One warning.  Around day 4-5, maybe earlier or later depending on the person you can experience fatigue when switching into keto and the lack of carbs will just make you tired.  Once you get past that, youll feel better than ever.
