Cutting Progress/Need Advice/BF Estimate Also - Saturday, July 26, 2008 9:07 PM ( #1 )
I've been cutting for nearly 3 months. In that time I've lost 19.8 pounds (9kg). But I can't say I'm very happy with my progress. What I do think happened is that I lost most of my BF from my legs and arms because from what I can tell only my stomach has shrunk. I don't have any pictures of my legs but they are slimmer than before.

Anyway, from the pictures you can see that I've become smaller. I haven't been this skinny before and to me I look anorexic lol. But I still have a lot of 'mushy' fat on my stomach and chest. It's like wobbly and strechy.

Atm I need some advice. Because I've lost 19 pounds and I'm still 'soft' basically everywhere on the top half of my body. I'm 6'1" and 183 pounds at the moment, so if I continue cutting I'll get way to skinny - BUT, I still have a considerable amount of fat on my stomach and chest which I want to get rid of.

So maybe you guys can give me some advice as to what I should do next. Start bulking or continue cutting...

You've made good progress for 3 months man. I'd say you are at a good point to go either way, keeping cutting if you want to look really lean/ripped, or start bulking if you are worried about looking too thin. It really just depends on what look you are going for right now. I would say you could benefit from putting on some lean muscle mass, but that doesn't mean you have to start now. A lot of people would rather be cut during the summer anyway and bulk during the times when you are less likely to be walking around w/o your shirt off. Good work though, let us know what you decide to do.
Age: 26 Height: 5'10
Weight as of 8/31/08: 160lbs.
Current weight: 180lbs.
Semi-Clean Bulkin!
Current Maxes as of 6/4/08:
Squat: 250lbs.
Deadlift: 255lbs.
Bench: 285lbs.

i'd bulk your pretty lean..but like MDC said you could go either way and since its summer you might want to stay lean..or you could do what i am doing and started at the beginning of summer and clean bulk, i'm still pretty lean after 2 months of bulking i mean maybe 3-4 lb. of fat to cut off but i'm gonna try and bulk through august..

EDIT: i would give you a bf guess but its pretty hard to tell..your pretty skinny though dont be to worried about it.

it all depends on your goals.

to me, i'd say keep cutting until you're happy.  then clean bulk through november or december.  i'd say cut.

keep cutting till it's time to pull out the long sleeve shirts and jackets.
If it wasn't painfully difficult then you didn't do it right

I vote to keep cutting but try to focus on strength in the weightroom. As a newbie you can make progress in both areas at the same time. That way when it's time to bulk you'll already be pushing heavy loads and it'll make the process that much easier.
