I was caught up in the infomercials, and I came accross this piece of equipment. I know Weider' s reputation as light duty equipment, but with an upgrade to 440 lbs of resistance, I believe that I can get a really good workout from it. I know that it can' t be as good as training at the gym, but if I bought this (with the 440 lb upgrade and lat bar) along with a 5-85lb set of powerblock dumbells it would run me about $1400 (shipping included). Does this sound like a good deal? I need something to buy with next year' s tax return, God bless poverty and what it does to the taxes. I don' t want to invest into a power rack or " real" weights until I get out of the military, considering how often I have to move around. Thanks for any input.

Tested one out the other day (though I decided to pass on the purchase) and it wasn' t too bad. If you have access to a real gym and just want something to use at home, it seemed like a decent little machine. The resistance is pretty good. I went for a bench press with only an 80 and a 10 pound rod attached, and I could barely do it. I' ll be honest, I didn' t set the back rest properly so I was pressing from an odd angle, nor did I try super hard on the presses either, but it was still some amazing (and real) resistance. Of course, it can' t compare to a real weights, and performing real biceps curls is always difficult when you are attached to a cable (of course, you' ll be taking care of that with the seperate dumbbells), so if you need something that' s easy to move and use when you just can' t get to a gym for one reason or another, it came off as a very decent piece of equipment with a much better price than the Bowflex.

I still do not understand. Does the crossbow give you GAINS?? I want to get huge, not just toned. HUGE. not freaky steriod huge, just big. I have a set of dumbells. 35-70lbs. I need to get one multi gym. SICK AND TIRED OF WAITING ON LITTLE PEOPLE in the gym. 600 maxdollas. I hear mixed reviews. Some say yes you gain, others say no. I need someone who knows what the hell they are talking about. Not some little food deprived skrawny looking dweb. Yes or no? Gains? I eat 3 to 4 times a day High carbs and High Protein, good sources too. Take 5 shakes a day. 3 ProlabNlargeII, and 2massfuelby Twinlab. On that Glutamine/Creatine mix. Amino2222. Added NO2(recently) So I think my diet is ok. With that said, would I get gains off the mf' ing crossbow? Or am I better off getting a something else? If so what is the best machine, for the price?

For 600 bucks I' m sure you could get a good power rack and olympic weight set, especially in the U.S.

You sure can! In fact, you can probably get a decent power rack, adjustable bench, olympic set, olympic ez-curl bar, wind up with a few bucks left over out of that $600, and that includes shipping charges.
