Is it too early to ask where you went from there?
Once you were finished - did you go back to max-ot, and how did you find your new found 'max' changed what you were lifting before?

After the 12 week CB program I went to London for 10 days and took my training break.

Now that I'm back, I'm trying out a program for 30 days that is in the A to Z Fitness Secrets eBook and the program specifically is by Tom Venuto. It's not in the BFFM book as that is more geared towards nutrition and this book is geared towards actual routines and such.

I've found that I can do 315 lbs 1 time.. which was the goal.. and that the weights I was doing on Max-OT.. are higher.

And oddly enough when I took those 12 weeks to focus on bench and everything else was sort of maintain and rest, I was able to beat out old records like the squat without doing anything near my old Max weights.

I'll go back to Max-OT. Once I'm done testing a few more programs and telling people about them.

I wish I could afford these e-books. It'd be nice for me to add some iron to the barbell. make it bend ya know. But for now I'll have to try and decipher what the program contains by looking at what you guys post....sorry I'm saggin the info from you guys.

Skip 4 bad Hollywood movies. That's pretty much the price of most books plus bonues.

No. Once I stopped strength training and went for size (supersets, reps) a lot of strenght was lost.

Of course, my other body parts came back up fast becuase I paid attention to them. But my bench went from 325 lbs for 2 reps back to 245 lbs for 4-6 reps. Once I did 270 lbs but that was when I was not doing any super-setting whatsoever.

The size stayed!

well, i got the critical bench program and am trying it out for myself

my current bench is 340 pounds.

i am doing the bench workout on monday and here is week 1 of the critical bench program

week 1:

bench press - 292.5lbs x 6 reps, 307.5 x 3 reps, then finished with 320 pounds for 1 rep, was gonna try 2 but thought better of it, so far not a bad start. If I can increase by 50 pounds like the program claims then by week 11 I should be benching 390, well, we shall see. Didn't bother with burn out set cos I run outta time, I try not to train for longer than one hour.

bench press - 297.5lbs x 6 reps, 310 x 3 reps, 325 x 1 rep and finished with 1 rep of 330 pounds, so all in all not a bad workout, very pleased, again I didn;t do a burnout set as i run out of time

I'm actually curious to see your results mr orange.  I just recently started benching again, was stuck with high reps and dumbells because of shoulder.  I've gone from 225 two times with assistance on january 14th, to doing 225 for 5 reps unassisted.  It isn't huge but I am still working on it. Will be doing some heavy bench next week and see what I can do.  I think I could get 50 lbs on my own but one day I want to bench press over 400, and hopefully 365 in the not too distant future.  So maybe I will have to adopt a program like this one if it works.
