Creatine question - Friday, August 25, 2006 2:44 PM
I was wondering: if I used creatine only on arms days would it still be effective (for my arms)? (my arms are lagging and I don't have much creatine left..)

creatine doesnt work like that, rather it works on a basis of muscle saturation. All muscles get equally saturated with creatine

Also..you get it in your diet.

If you supplement, you mess with your bodies equilibrium of creatine..so be consistent (every day) or don't do it at all.

A guy I know said that creatine will make you big, but soon as you stop using it, you will lose mass quickly. At least thats what he said happened to him. He is pretty skinny. I am on creatine right now for the first time and want to know if this has happened to any you guys?

You gain some weight from water and that weight goes when you stop.

But you keep the muscle you gain.

its not that you lose mass, creatine drives more fluids into your muscles, so when you stop taking creatine, you will lose the water that was being held in your muscles. You keep the muscle mass gained with creatine, but it may seem like you lost some size because of the decrease of water and fluids being held when you are no longer taking creatine. creatine is the best proven supplement for making you stronger and aids in building mass.

The main thing with creatine is to keep it in your body and take it as the directions say. You want to keep your body saturated. Creatine does several things to assist you in working out. The main benefit of creatine is energy in workouts. The main source of energy in your body is ATP. When  you exert energy, ATP is burned and broken down into ADP and another inorganic compound. Creatine simply bonds with the ADP and turns it back into ATP, which is energy. Yes it does pull water into your muscles but that really doesnt have much to do with its effects in workng out. It will also help with soreness. Creatine also is mainly good for short bursts such as maxing out. Taking creatine and running cross country really wouldnt help much.
