hey guys! long time no speak

ok, there's 2 things that i've always wondered about:

1. People say that mixing creatine in orange juice negates the effect of creatine.

2. People say that mixing whey protein in milk slows down the absorption of whey (some even say that the casein BREAKS DOWN the whey :O :O :O )

ARE any of these really true? i'm sick of rumors lol

ALSO lol: 3. Say i'm working out twice a week, will the creatine be efficiently absorbed if i take 3 or 4 servings per postworkout drink? (that is, take 3 or 4 servings after each workout to make up for the week rather than one serving each day?)

thanks in advance!

To the first question, yes mixing creatine with a citric drink such as orange juice renders the creatine useless.

To the second question, not sure that it slows it down by much, but if you want fast digesting protein you take whey and if you dont, take casein. If your making a shake with fruit/oats/pb and such.. milk would be fine, but if your drinking straight whey plus milk, I'd go for water.

I'm not exactly sure about the third, sorry buddy.

^^^incorrect
1)No,
There is nothing wrong with taking creatine with grapefruit juice, orange juice, or any Vitamin C containing product.  The pH of the stomach is approximately 2, which is just as low or acidic, if not more acidic, then these juices. If creatine makes it through the stomach just fine, mixing it briefly into juice is not going to cause any problems. Just dont mix it in juice and leave it for hours and hours before you take it.

2) The only thing you are sacrificing its obsorbtion rate when mixing whey with milk or casien. There are so many protein blends with whey and casein in them. Where did you even hear that? They will not effect eachother except for obsorbtion.
3) No, dont take more than 5-10g pre and post combined, it will be worthless. Take it everyday so that the levels build up and stay constant in your system.

1 i wouldn't mix em just to be safe

2 if the milk doesnt have alot of fat in it i dont see why absorbsion time would be effected. Dairy products also seem to take away definition due to the extra carbs and sugars in it. I'd stick with mixing my powders with water.

3 Only take 5 to 10g like mentioned before or else your just gonna piss out the extra creatine and waste your money

yeah, i found out that OJ won't convert the creatine and break it down. cheers guys!!!

but how much does casein affect whey's absorption??? i'm just thinkin, if taken postworkout, (ie milk and whey), will it delay recovery much? (because after a workout we need QUICK protein absorption)

I dont think 3/4 serving per day would be good for you

Why dont you just take them at two different times, whey with water, casein with milk, if you want.

Does it have added stimulants or no booster stuff? It should be fine to take after.

it would make your body able to regenerate ATP faster, which is good because thats the main fuel for muscle contration. It'll help your fatigue levels in the gym, lift heavier weight for longer. Thats the general effect from creatine..everyone's different
Is that what you ment?
