 Creatine Loading

Creatine Loading - Monday, March 29, 2004 6:15 PM
I start creatine loading tomorrow for the first time. Four servings a day seems kind of alot. I am not a big guy. I am 5'8 and only 165 pounds. (rock solid muslce of course ) For my loading could i get a way with three servings or is the four the best way to go? For maintaining i only plan on taking one (5g) a day is htat good?

5g a day is fine. It might take you a little longer ot get to a "full load" of creatine, but you won't be running to the bathroom suddenly either.

5-10g a day is average. 5 is more of what I've read though.

I don't think the loading phase is necessary. But if you do load.. be aware that since you will be taking more creatine a day, you may experience some limited side-effects (upset stomach being #1). After that phase and you cycle down to 5g a day.. you should be fine.

This is for sure. I definitely had some attacks of diarrehea during the loading phase which probably isn't even necessary. From now on, if I ever do use it, I don't load....

Totally.. I know that loading for me.. 20g a day.. I had an upset stomach. After that.. back to normal. If that happens, just back off.. forget the loading phase and drop your dose to 5g a day. If it continues after that.. discontinue use of that brand. If it continues on another brand.. discontinue use.
