Creatine - Saturday, December 06, 2003 7:06 AM
Hi,

I've been trying Creatine for the last few months, cycling it on and off for about 1 month periods. Unfortunately it doesn't seem to make any difference for me - I guess I'm one of that unlucky 30%.

Anyway, do different brands perhaps work differently? I'm using 'Higher Power' creatine from Bodybuilding.com. Would I be likely to notice any results switching to a different brand, or should I just try something different?

Thanks.

Different types of transports might work for you.

If you don't respond to creatine, changing brands isn't likely to make a difference unless the brand you were taking is of such low quality. Doubtful that's the case. So if you are the 30% that doesn't respond, there are other types of creatine transport systems that were designed with those in mind.

Now I'm not saying it WILL work but something like V12 is geared towards the non-responders. I do respond to creatine but I did try V12 and I really liked it.

So rather then switch brands, try a creatine transport system and see if that makes a difference. Some who don't respond to just plain creatine have reported that this stuff does work for them. Then again, maybe nothing. Give one bottle a try and if nothing happens, then you kinda have a better answer.

Prolab is cheaper(i think) and a good brand. Also you can get pfansteihl creatine(compares to creapure) off of ebay for a very good deal.

Yeah, about that. Should I be using it for longer than that?

Is that true for V12 as well? I've been using V12, and it recommends 8 weeks on, 4 weeks off. Should I stay on for longer, or do some of the other supplements in the V12 require a shorter cycle?

I did V12 for the 8 weeks.. and then went off. It was a creatine transport. Had other stuff in it that I wasn't sure about.

I followed the directions on that one.

Hey I've found a great site and it has two informative articles one why not to take and one is about cycling creatine and why it works. I liked them they make you think. They are from a site Muscle101.com very informative.

a month on and off is not going to work, try cycling it for 8 weeks because creatine is not a steroid like substance it will take time to kick in
