Creatine article - Wednesday, June 11, 2008 2:57 PM
I just thought this would be interesting for lifters, and something to shed some answers for the newbies.

creatine helps us regulate our body temperature, reduce sweat rate and exercising heart rate (so our hearts aren't working so hard in the heat), and maintain our red blood cells per volume of blood (i.e., hematocrit).

errrm...reducing sweat rate actually is bad.

Your body when hot sweats to get rid of this heat, its called transpiration in plants, humans-sweating.

The water (sweat) absorbs the heat, and evaporates off, its how we cool down.

If youre in a hot environment and your sweating DECREASES, your body is actually heating up, and actually will cause HEAT EXHAUSTION.

Im not saying creatine is dangerous, im just saying creatine will cause heat exaustion if you are in a hot environment and have little water.

Which is why drinking plenty of water is important when having creatine.

Other than that creatine is harmless in SENSIBLE DOSES.
