your problem is in your diet not in your training.

Your diet is more for bulking then cutting...

Eliminate - red meat - whole eggs - pasta - cheese - peanut butter

Incorperate - fish.. possibly kipper snacks but you want to stay away from too much sodium it will cause you to bloat. more organic vegitables try edimani <-- i spelled that wrong its a soy bean sold at asian stores that you can boil in water. Start making turkey sandwich's use white bread. eat only brown rice.

Ask Linda or OldNavy about foods for dieting.. your diet needs a little bit of work. You need to cut down fast for this competition.

the dining halls done have fish that often, but i do eat it when we have it. i've cut out a lot of the carbs, a LOT of them.

given that the contest is the 14th, i don't see a lot changing body fat wise. just going to stick to what i've been doing, keep the carbs low, protein high and see what happens. It's my first one, so I have a lot of time and experience to gain.

I agree. Your diet seems to be the one lacking in disicpline. Your "snacks" are not sufficient, there's no source of protein/carbs but just fats.

Have you read that article Dan has written?

Peanut butter and peanuts are a good source of protein, monounsaturated, and polyunsaturated fats. From what I've read, they're good snacks.

I don't know what article you are referring to. He has written a LOT.

Those two.

Anyways, on the topic of peanuts, they are "incomplete protein sources", which means they do not contain the essential ammino acids, thus which is why you should have proteins which are complete, such as meats, quiona etc, or mix certain types of foods to make it complete, i.e rice+beans. The article written by Dan (the links) has a great guide in getting your eating plan together.

just did 10 minutes of interval on the treadmill and about a half hour on my routine. it went a lot better than yesterday. i still have some kinks to work out, but i'll do that in my dorm so as not to take up practice time with it.

today is going to be a VERY easy day. my legs are still not recovered from whatever i did to them yesterday. knees hurt, which is fairly normal for me, and my right ankle still hurts as well. i'm going to work on my routine in my dorm. i won't be able to do it full out, but i have things i need to tweak anyway, so it won't be a waste. back to the gym and practicing full out tomorrow, no matter what.
