RE: Countdown to Competition - Wednesday, March 07, 2007 4:12 PM
So, yesterday I did go to the gym and did upper body. I did everything to failure and it went pretty well. I'm going to have to increase some of the weights tomorrow as I want to stay in the 8-12 rep range.

As for today, I'm going to do an hour of cardio. The roads were slick and we didn't want to chance getting into an accident.

The low carb thing is going "okay" I guess. It's really bringing up some anorexic ways of thinking so I am going to have to be less strict about it. I'll just have to workout more to compensate for it.

I did upper body yesterday very similar to what I did on Tuesday. I went at one of the worst times and the gym was so crowded. I haven't been keeping track of reps like I normally do, just trying to see what I can do this week. Next week it will be back to lifting like usual.

Today is a lower body day and I will probably just do cardio. I don't want to start out going full out as this lower carb thing is really taking its toll. The new intensity of the workouts is also taking a toll.

Did drop sets today for upper body. Man I'm exhausted. I will hopefully put in 2 hours of cardio before I go to bed, one session at 4 and one session at 9.

Got more compliments in the gym today. I must be doing something right.

Did legs today. A lot of the exercises were too light and I'll either have to increase to weight or increase the reps. I'll probably increase the reps since I want to lean out my lower body.

Cardio is going okay. Still bored to death doing it, but am trying to get at least an hour in a day, two if I'm up for it.

I am completely exhausted. I took a day off yesterday. I was so sore and fatigued. I'm still exhausted today. My friend thinks I may be training too much/too intense but I don't want to stop training like I have been.

I've been focusing on cardio lately and haven't been to the gym since Monday. I've been a little paranoid as we were in a minor car accident on the way home. I've just been trying to get in some cardio every day and avoid carbs as much as possible.

I have been doing some lifting, bringing cat food/litter in from the car and through the house as well as cleaning the house. The person I am with is on crutches and had a quadruple bypass in December so he still can't do much by himself.

Hopefully I'll get rested so when I get to college, I can do what I had planned to do over break, cardio twice a day and lifting once.

Most people will not understand the level of fitness you need to be in to compete in a fitness pageant, just nod and be pleasant but know you are a bit more on top of your needs than they are.

Personally for me, I believe you're overtraining and especially training 6x a week, but I know ItalianAngel won't agree with me. :D

What I told my friend who thinks I'm overtraining is that I only have 3 weeks until the competition. 3 weeks of training like this will not kill me.
