Whenever I hear the name "cottage cheese" it makes me cringe. I heard it was a good source of protein so I bought some(low fat). My question is what are some good ways I can put this stuff in my body. I hear of people mixing it with their protein shakes but what suggestions do you guys have.......... Thanks

cinnamon, cayenne pepper, salsa, rolled in a blintz, fruit mixed in, as a dessert with bananas, strawberries, and your favorite sauce (use the cottage cheese where others would use ice cream).

I eat oats (cooked into porridge) and a big tbsp of low fat cottage cheese most mornings.  It's great as the protein.  You can add a 1/2 tsp of jam or splenda to sweeten if that's your taste.

Cottage cheese mixed with cinnamon, splenda and a big dollop of low fat no sugar yoghurt makes a great snack and it's kind of like eating dessert if you mix in some fruit.

I used to hate cottage cheese esp the lite version and now I eat heaps of it.

I've found there's a really big difference between different brands of cottage cheese, a lot more than I expected. If you don't like the non-fat versions, the low-fat versions still only have a pretty small amount of fat, and taste a lot better.

I've got a thread in the recipe forum on how to make yogurt cheese, which can be a substitute for cottage cheese.

1/2 cup cottege cheese
1/2 cup oats (I usually only include this on my cheat day, they don't really alter the taste but they make the pancakes nice a fluffy!)
1 egg + 4 egg whites
1 scoop protein powder
1 tsp baking soda
splash of vanilla and cinnemon

After eating these protein pancakes I feel as though I had a slice of cake, they taste AMAZING and are a great use of cottege cheese.  the cottege cheese makes them really moist and yum yum.
