Convincing Parents to allow creatine intake? - Thursday, October 02, 2008 2:25 PM
I tried to argue that it is natural and stuff but they keep insisiting it is bad for your kidneys etc.  I drink 3 bottles of water in school and other liquids after school.  I order Xyience nox and they sent it back.  What would convince them?  Also the reason i want to take a creatine or pre workout project is my workout suffers from being tired from school etc.  So what would be a good preworkout creatine or w.e aswell.

It doesnt matter what evidence you give your parents, were living in a day and age that if it has a picture of muscle on it or its FOR muscle, it MUST BE A STEROID.

Its hysteria for people who dont know any better.

It doesnt matter what evidence you present they will always say no, thats what being a parent is, it doesnt matter how many experts say theres creatine in beef and eggs anyway, they wont believe it, its muscle building and therefore unnatural and a steroid.

Silly but there we go.

Just order it to a friends house and pick it up there and give him the money

How old are you anyway?

Also, if your looking for pre workout and you say your tired, you should try Nano Vapor. It's a pre workout drink that gives quite the boost in energy to say the least!
Everyone on here will probably hate on me since it's a muscletech product (evidently people don't like to pay a little bit of money for good products).

ANYWAYS...I take it before I go to the gym, and it's pretty beast to say the least.
Also, it has creatine in it.

If their parents don't let him take plain creatine I doubt they'll let him drink something that say "super anabolic compound, extreme vascularity and energizing effect" all over the tub

Ok guys.  My parents think it will shut ur kidneys down and stuff.  Im taking whey, they took my hydroxy away though.  And im 15.  But i feel like **** before my workout from the drain of school.  The main problem is the label saying over 18 reccommended.  But what is there to tell them it cant hurt me?  If i could id be taking hydroxy hxc the caffeine in it awesome.

Also twisted they let me take whey.   But i ordered xyience and it was returned.   And if i did order it to a friend they would catch me from taking it as it large...

I want to be bam its good for you!

If you're feeling like that is because you're not eating enough prior the workout

At 15 I would not recomend nothing with caffein

Make sure you're

1- Eating enough (get a meal within 3 hours prior to training) and eat plenty through the day

2- Sleep enough; Long nights talking on IM and having to wake up early in the morning is not good, 8 hours of continous sleep every night, otherwise you're overall performance will suck (studies included)

3- Creatine is not something that will make you gain mass fast, the usual gains associated with creatine supplementation are due to the increased intramuscular hydration (more water in the muscles). IMO (although I have not tried lots of supps) it is better to go with Pure Creatine Monohydrate instead of the creatine mixes some companies claim to be "the best creatine mix available". Pure creatine monohydrate is a lot cheaper and will get you the results you look for when buying creatine, wich is increased intramuscular hydration

"Short-term use of creatine in healthy individuals is generally considered safe (see Creatine supplements#Safety). , studies have not yet been able to demonstrate either long-term or short term creatine supplementation result in adverse health effects. Creatine supplementation utilizing proper cycling and dosages has not been linked with any adverse side effects beyond occasional dehydration due to increased muscular water uptake from the rest of the body. In fact, an increase in body mass because of increased muscle hydration is the most widely accepted side effect of creatine supplementation."

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Creatine

Print it and show it to your parents, if they still say no, then there's nothing you can do

Again, if you're looking for quick mass gains, creatine is not for you. Actually if that's the case, bodybuilding is not for you.

Creatine enhances the production of ATP, giving you an edge in the workout. Nothing special about it

Im looking to gain strength and mass over years.  5 years from now i want to be looking large but not over sized.  I have now been going around 5 months workout straight and 3 months routine.  I get 8 hours daily luckly sometimes 9 and half which is good for my character by not being mean etc.

Will creatine give me the mental and physical boost before workout or should i have to add something to that.

The reason a lot of people think creatine shuts the kidneys down is because theres around 10 medical sitcoms where they sprout the word "creatinINE" over and over and how its shutting the kidneys down.

CreatinINE is the by product of the kidneys renal failure from creatine.

Creatine itself will not shut down kidneys.

Sam, buy a simple biology textbook and get one with a fairly detailed citric acid cycle chapter, and they will see creatine phosphate or creatine on its own as a way to get ADP or AMP to ATP so you have more energy.

But even then theyre parents and theyl still stay all hysterical

tell your parents that they are getting creatine EVERYDAY in the food that they eat.  Meat has creatine in it.  the body uses creatine all the time.  This isn't something that the body isn't used to, or is un-prepared for.  It's natural.

so the next time your parents are eating a steak, go ahead and say "how come you get to put creatine into your body.. but you won't let me take a little bit extra in powder form due to my bodybuilding, where I'll utilize it?"

i bet you money they don't even know that they take creatine every day.

i love naive people --sarcasm--

Just forget it, my parents were the same way, but it really doesn't matter that much anyway. Both protein and your multivitamin are much more important as is the actual training you do. Tell your parents to get you a trainer instead, so you can get stronger that way since they didn't let you get it.

I go to school everyday and I barely ever get tired, becuase I get around 10 hours of continous sleep everynight and around 12-13 hours on weekends and plus I am very deep sleeper. I am just that kind of person. When I get home, I do my homework and do my workout, i dont even get tired after my workout, i think sleep might help u with your tiredness problem and I will bet you, your parents wont stand in your way if you sleep more.
