Converse? - Friday, March 07, 2008 3:45 PM ( #1 )
I was watching lifting vids and saw a few guys that wore Converse when lifting.  Are these a good substitute for weight lifting shoes?

LOL, why would you get off-brand Chucks? On-brand are already super cheap.

Because they cost $40.

They are "classic" so the price shoots up.

The flatness of these shoes has made a big difference, with sneaks it felt like I was leaning forward all the time because the heel is thicker on sneaks.

love the shoes, and the feeling of my foot on the floor pretty much.  there's just a piece of cardboard in the bottom of the shoe ROFL.

oh man 25 bucks????  I went to the shoe store the other day to get a pair of converse and I was shocked to see they cost about 150 bucks (Bs.F 320 at 2,15 per US$ = 148US$), I gave the seller an evil look and left the store

Yea I really need new shoes. Both my shoes have a giant hole on the bottom and they are ugly and worn out. I hate converses though so I might get a nike basketball shoe.

I loved it when assholes in highschool wore Converse.  Ever give someone a flat tire while their walking (stepping on the back of their shoe so their foot comes out)?  With Converse, it's not a flat tire, it's a blowout.

The bottom of the shoe rips off.  Mofugga's would be running down the hallway all giddy and shxt, we'd blow their shoes out, they'd fall and complain, and we'd laugh and walk away.

I just wear socks when I squat and deadlift...

As little as 12 pairs for $3, so if your too cheap for a cheap shoe...

I was thinking about ordering some offline, I remember having a pair back in the day and the sizing was different. Dont they fit a little big? So if I normally wear an 11 should I get a 10?

yea redjeep.  you were right.  i checked my chucks last night, and the size was an 11.5, so they do run a bit large.  i normally wear a 12 in most shoes

Puma's work well also, I have a few pair, sometimes finish line runs em, like 2 pairs for 55 dollars. Pretty good deal, and with back to school coming up, I am not sure if every where does tax free but we do in FL so, if anyone was gonna get some new shoes, if you can wait a bit, I would suggest it.

um.  yea... they're perfect for me.

and as for the tax-free shopping.  if you really think about it.. you're not saving THAT much money.   by the time you drive around all day, and stand in lines... you've wasted the money you saved at the store in just gas.   4 bucks a gallon?? and you're worried about a dollar or two of tax.
not worth it IMO
