If you want loss weight , you can caculate how many calories you need each day .
Body Weight [lb] x 15 + (moderate activity [mins/day] x 3.5)
BMR (Basal Metabolic Rate)
BMR [kcal]
Body Weight [lb] x 15 + (moderate activity [mins/day] x 3.5)
Since you wish to lose weight, your target = BMR - 500 kcal
If a person's weight is 160lb ,and moderate activity is 30
The target will be 160*15+30*3.5-500=2005 kcal
So he just need 2005 kcal everyday . But they just in general , People are vastly different
